Theism-atheism is the subject of long debate on many blogs. Naturally, many groups surface there. Three major groups are – (1) Believer, (2) Atheists and (3) neither this side nor that side. People are afraid of being branded an atheist. It can appropriately be called ‘religious timidity’.
There is no conclusion on this subject. Comments are pouring in given today. There are more than five hundred comments which is a record in the history of Hindi blogging.
I’ve become an atheist, but atheism in itself is a belief.
In India, belief has disseminated lot of unscientific knowledge. This has harmed this country greatly. Thinking of much larger human groups has lost the edge in the network of theism and religiosity. Science has been pushed to the second place. Ancient knowledge (tribal stories) has been propagated as science.
Agnostic has his own belief. Theist believes in a power which is different from him. An atheist believes in himself. He has faith in available science. The base element is faith. It is beneficial.
Faith gives confidence when we lose hope. It is a psychological fact. Faith increases person’s capacity to recover. It improves the process of healing. Accordingly, it increases the chances of his life. This faith is the proven process. It does not make a difference to belief whether person is a believer or an atheist. It goes on working like a flame.
डॉ दिव्या के ब्लॉग पर नास्तिकता–आस्तिकता के विषय पर लंबी बहस छिड़ गई. टिप्पणी दर टिप्पणी आई. स्वाभाविक कई समूह बन गए. तीन प्रमुख रहे– 1. आस्तिक, 2. नास्तिक और 3. कुछ इधर के कुछ उधर के या न इधर के न उधर के. एक बात फिर स्पष्ट हुई कि लोग नास्तिक होते हैं लेकिन स्वयं पर इसका ठप्पा लगने से डरते हैं. इसे भीरूता कहना अधिक उपयुक्त होगा.
इन टिप्पणियों में दूसरे पर इक्कीस पड़ने की प्रवृत्ति भी थी और एक दूसरे को नीचा दिखाने की भी. यह ऐसा विषय है कि इसका अंतिम निष्कर्ष निकलना नहीं था और न निकला. आज की तारीख में भी टिप्पणियाँ आ रही हैं. हिंदी ब्लॉगिंग के इतिहास में साढ़े तीन सौ से अधिक टिप्पणियों का रिकार्ड बन चुका है.
मैं नास्तिक हो चुका हूँ, लेकिन इतनी बहस के बाद नास्तिकता में छिपी आस्तिकता के बारे में एक बात विशेष रूप से यहाँ लिख देना चाहता हूँ.
भारतीय परिप्रेक्ष्य में आस्तिकता के माध्यम से फैलाया गया अज्ञान देश को बहुत हानि पहुँचा चुका है. बहुत बड़े मानव समूह की सोच आस्तिकता–धार्मिकता के ताने–बाने में कुंद हुई है. विज्ञान को दूसरे दर्जे पर धकेल कर पौराणिक ज्ञान से ढँका गया जिसका महत्व वास्तव में कबीलाई कहानियों से अधिक नहीं है.
यह कहना भी सही नहीं है कि नास्तिक में आस्तिकता नहीं होती. आस्तिक अपने से अलग सत्ता में आस्था–विश्वास रखता है और नास्तिक स्वयं पर विश्वास करता है और उपलब्ध विज्ञान में आस्था रखता है. तत्त्व है– किसी पर दृढ़ विश्वास. यह लाभकारी होता है.
कहते हैं कि आस्तिकता तब शक्ति देती है जब व्यक्ति को किसी स्थिति में निराशा घेर ले. मनोविज्ञान की दृष्टि से यह तथ्य है. गंभीर रूप से बीमार व्यक्ति के भीतर यदि किसी दवा, डॉक्टर, ईश्वर या पास खड़े रिश्तेदार में विश्वास हो आए तो उसमें बीमारी से लड़ने की क्षमता बढ़ जाती है और निरोग होने की प्रक्रिया में सुधार होता है. फलतः उसके जीवित रहने की संभवनाएँ बढ़ती हैं. यह विश्वास की प्रमाणित कार्यप्रणाली है. कोई आस्तिक है या नास्तिक इससे विश्वास को कोई अंतर नहीं पड़ता. वह लौ की तरह है.
